This is a group of our Honors Seminar students at Al Akhawayn University. I had the pleasure to teach a module about "Mental Health in Cultural & Historical Contexts - Neurodiversities in Practice".
Within this module I introduced Keren Rosenbaum's 'ALP/PLAYGROUND APPROACH', an innovative framework for fostering deep interpersonal communication through Synesthetic Communication, a multidimensional way of expressing meaning beyond words. Rooted in Reflexive Listening, this approach cultivates attunement by integrating sensory, emotional, and creative layers of interaction, making it particularly valuable in education, therapy, and group dynamics.
I have worked with Keren Rosenbaum and Kiki Ylimutka on this approach since 2013. It has been a pleasure to inspire our students with the 'REFLEXIVE INVISIBLE SCORES', and teach how to use and create their own one's.

Students in my "ART339901 Cultural Production" course have to work on 8-week-long semester projects in which they connect their personal skills, interests, and ideas with any sort of event or production they realistically can achieve.
Let me introduce you to two teams, who have done (beside others) extraordinary work.
The first team with Ali Jaafari, Ikram Bouabid, and Nour Al Houda El Moujahid collaborated with Moroccan storyteller Zouhair Khaznaoui, intending to develop a machine learning model that can transcribe oral "Halqa" performances into translated captions, enabling non-Darija speakers to understand and appreciate Moroccan storytelling traditions.
The second team with Achraf Achraf, khadija charkioui, Anass El Houcini, Nour El Houda Mdaghri Allaoui, and Zaynab Aamimar planned an entire Moroccan Culture Day in collaboration with the AUI Nexus Harmony Club (Islam Bouikiri). The day entailed an exhibition of Moroccan cultural artifacts, Nour's own paintings, an embroidery workshop for AUI students by women artisans from Azemmour, an art competition for all AUI students, a ceremony with Ahidous performance and honorable guests, and a nostalgic game night!
The entire class worked on their understanding on how the
#Sustainable #Development #Goals have #culture and cultural #production embedded in order to bring humans together for the better.
I am proud of my students, and hope they will carry their understanding about arts and culture into the world they want to build their and our future in.
