I am a Mexican economist who enjoys conducting empirical analyses and policy-oriented research. My interests lie at the intersection of gender, labour, and development economics. My research is primarily focused on Mexico, but I have also worked on projects concerning Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
I have experience working on the following research topics:
Development economics: Structural transformation.
Poor economics: Poverty dynamics, multi-dimensional poverty.
Gender economics: Female labour participation, gender gaps, gender norms.
Labour economics: Informality.
In my doctoral thesis, I examine the relationship between economic development, structural transformation and female labour participation in agriculture, industry, and services.
My research project is under the supervision of David Fielding, Upasak Das, and Ralitza Dimova.
