Mexican economist specialised in applied economic research based on analysing large-scale microdata. Experience conducting empirical analyses and policy-oriented studies on topics related to economic development, labour markets, poverty reduction, and gender issues. My research is focused on Mexico, but I have also worked as an international consultant in projects about Bangladesh and Zimbabwe funded by the UK FCDO and the World Bank.
I have experience working on the following research topics:
Development economics: Structural transformation.
Economics of poverty reduction: Poverty dynamics, multi-dimensional poverty.
Gender economics: Female labour participation, gender gaps, gender norms.
Labour economics: Informal economy and precarious working conditions.
