Shaping Horizons - University of Cambridge

Shaping Horizons is an International Conference for young leaders from Latin America & the UK to increase cooperation between the two regions and promote social innovation. I was selected to participate in the social challenges group, focused mainly on poverty and inequality challenges.   

During this event I also attended presentations about Science, Innovation & Public Policy by academics from Cambridge University, UK civil servants and Latin American diplomats. The summit also covered mechanisms used in the UK to create links between academia, government, and decision-makers. Moreover, the organizing committee created interdisciplinary groups between the participants to present social innovation projects that could be implemented in Latin American countries. The winners received funding from the University of Cambridge to implement the project in their countries.
