Each year, the Forum for Cooperation Understanding & Solidarity selects 30 outstanding students from Mexico and the U.S. to attend a bi-annual summit that takes place at ITAM University in Mexico City, and a few months later at Stanford University.

During both events, I attended conferences from activists, diplomats, and government officials from Mexico and the United States about the main topics of the bilateral agenda: migration, international trade, and the energy sector. 

Some of the invited speakers to the summits were: 

• Anthony Wayne, U.S. Ambassador in Mexico

• Jesús Reyes-Heroles, Former Minister of Energy in Mexico

• "Las Patronas", volunteer women providing food and assistance to migrants.

• Gabriela Cuevas, Mexico's senator

• Julian Castro, US Congressman
