Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
Between 2018 and 2019 I completed the first year of the "Erasmus Mundus" master programme in Economic Development and Growth at Universidad Carlos III Madrid.
The mandatory courses of the program were macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, development economics, growth theory, and research methods. My elective courses were "Labor markets in developing countries", "Financial systems in developing countries", "Measurements of welfare, poverty, and inequality", and "Institutions for development & growth".
During this year I also presented my first thesis of the master program entitled "A debt rule calibration for Mexico", where I proposed a debt threshold at 52% of Mexico's GDP, the elimination of the escape clause to the public debt fiscal rule as well as the establishment of an autonomous fiscal council with sufficient autonomy to monitor the levels of indebtedness in the country.
