A PROCESS PAINTING JOURNEY:

Someone once described me as a Shamanic Artist for whom painting is an intuitive, visionary and meditative process. What does that mean, I wondered? It simply means that through the painting process, one would turn one’s attention inward, and one’s paintings are therefore reflective of an inner journey. In this kind of painting there is no plan, and no goal.

Pretty much how I paint...

I don’t paint with models or with specific landscapes or a still life scene in front of me, and I certainly have no specific themes in my art often.

Instead I paint whatever is prompted from within, and sometimes in the process of painting it becomes...

Some people call this type of painting Process Painting, and by lack of a better word, I guess that one can call my way of painting process painting also.

Process Painting is about paying attention to your experience (your process) while you paint instead of focusing on the painting (the product). That may be why every painting becomes something entirely different.

Whatever you produce if you are “a process painter” is your creation. Therefore you can't do it wrong... what you paint could become a tree, or a landscape, or simply an abstract scene, or it could become a person dancing.

All labels aside for me it is very freeing to paint without a goal in mind, but rather to be in the state of it becoming what it wants to become, enfolding till I feel it’s complete.
