Irize Loots is a creative individual with many hobbies and passions among which photography, painting and drawing, and writing. She is a South African by birth, and a published author in her country of origin. She currently lives and works in The Netherlands.
Next to being a writer, Irize an an Intuitive, Certified Healer and an Attuned Reiki Master with many years' experience in the field of healing. She has completed a four-year therapy training, and received a Gestalt-Certification for the completion thereof. Irize also completed an Aromatherapy course, and has done Astrology training on the side.
Next to her work in an office, she does part-time work as a healer, motivational coach, compassionate listener, and serves others as an inspirational, spiritual guide. She incorporates all her expertise and years of experience when she facilitates workshops and when she offers meditation trainings.
Irize is gifted in tuning into and sensing the needs of her clients and students. She works both in person and online, in Dutch, English and Afrikaans. All of her part-time work is done from her practice, Indigo Light.
Indigo Light
Indigo Light is Irize's practice for creative coaching, healing & wellbeing. It is an alternative health practice rooted in using a holistic approach. Here she offers a safe space and welcomes newcomers and returning clients who want to make an appointment. To find out more about Indigo Light you can go directly to the Indigo Light page for more information.
Playing
Irize has done various different jobs in her life - in offices, service industries, and in the performing arts. She still earns her bread at a publishing company. She also works at her part-time practice Indigo Light (previously known as the Dolphin Centre).
For ten years she taught children to play piano. Her piano students in turn taught her that without playing life can be simply dull. Finding ways to play can be an adventure. Finding joy in all avenues of life becomes possible if active play is part of every day, and no one else can tell us how to play - we have to find out for ourselves how to play, by discovering what gives us joy.
Writing
For as long as she remembers, Irize has written something every day, and she has always loved it. Since 2016 her writing developed into projects. In language of origin (Afrikaans) two novels, two novelettes, and a poetry collection have been published. She also enjoys writing in English, and Irize likes to create blogs, and short food-for-thought, inspirational pieces during quiet moments of contemplation. Irize says that she has always been passionate about writing. "It may even be my true calling in life," she says with a smile.
Till the end of the sentence...
As a published writer in her country of origin, South Africa, all Irize Loots' publications are in her original language, Afrikaans. To read more about her Afrikaans writing, to listen to recordings of her book presentations and/or to order books (if you are familiar with Afrikaans), feel welcome to page further:

Irize loves to write, and has always enjoyed it. When she is with herself, she sits down and writes down her thoughts, feelings, (shorter or longer) stories, and she often discovers her own wisdom while writing. Sometimes she writes poetry, and sometimes it becomes something else. For fun, she has included Blogs where some of her inspired (English) writing moments over time have been kept:

… wherever there is a pause, it is clear that a thought is not complete.
Irize is aware of the power of words. Therefore she takes her time. She tries to be wise with the use of language as an expression of who she is or may still be becoming. Life is a process of becoming, she believes. What fascinates her is diving into the process of becoming through words. What will happen? No one knows, but it is worth exploring. Writing is a creative way of playing, and it brings many gifts, and surprises.
Irize loves and respects words, and the music words can make when strung together to form sentences, and paragraphs. It is exhilarating when words come together to finally form a symphony, but it is never the aim. Is there instant gratification in the game of writing? "Sometimes, but not always," she admits. In her perspective true pleasure lies in the process of writing, and not in the end result, though publication also brings a certain sense of joy. It all takes time.
Making paintings
Next to writing, Irize also enjoys playing the piano, painting and drawing, and to make colourful mandalas. These are all incorporated into her personal moments of fun and relaxation. Other joys in her daily life include photography, and she occasionally has fun creating little videos.
Irize likes to play with creativity. It helps her to centre, and to come back to herself. Sometimes painting can be as much of a playful journey as life can be. It inspires her, and it calms her down. Being creative enhances her life. While she loves painting, Irize does not call herself "an artist". She simply enjoys to paint - without ambition and without the need to impress!
Though others have said that her paintings remind them of journeys, and someone once labelled her as a Process Painter, Irize does not like labels. Labels can easily limit creativity. To view some of Irize's paintings, among which some "Process Painting journeys", you may page further:

What else?
Irize also enjoys meditation, and to practice Mindfulness - because she loves it. She says she can easily be convinced to read in her free time. She loves to spend time in nature, preferably while walking. Irize enjoys coming back to herself through various avenues of play.
If you wondered if she has a social life at all with all the work and play involved in her daily hours… YES! Next to loving time by herself, she also enjoys spending time with friends and family, and with most of her family living abroad, luckily she also enjoys a little travelling.
