We are proud to announce that during Global Rhythm Festival 2023, Ipswich Romanian Community officially launched the Ipswich Romanian Folk Ensemble, marking an important milestone in our mission to celebrate and promote Romanian culture and traditions across Suffolk.
The ensemble was created entirely by dedicated adult and child volunteers who share a passion for preserving Romanian heritage. Together, they proudly represent both Romania as cultural ambassadors and Ipswich Romanian Community as representatives of Romanian traditions within the local community.
Through authentic Romanian folk dances and the beauty of traditional Romanian costumes, our volunteers bring generations together while showcasing the richness, diversity and identity of Romanian culture to audiences of all backgrounds.
Since its launch, the ensemble has taken part in a variety of cultural events, helping to strengthen community cohesion, encourage cultural exchange and inspire younger generations to learn about and preserve their heritage.
Participation in the Ipswich Romanian Folk Ensemble is entirely voluntary and welcomes both children and adults who wish to learn, perform and contribute to the promotion of Romanian folk traditions.
We extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer, family, supporter and partner who has helped make this initiative possible. Together, we continue to promote Romanian culture with pride, respect and enthusiasm.
