Ipswich Romanian Community CIC maintains internal financial control procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, appropriate authorisation of expenditure and responsible management of organisational funds. This internal policy supports compliance with UK legislation, funding requirements and recognised standards of good governance. The policy is available to funders, regulators and authorised stakeholders upon request. 

Ipswich Romanian Community CIC maintains an internal Conflict of Interest Policy and Register of Directors' Interests to support transparent, accountable and independent decision-making. Directors and relevant individuals are expected to declare actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest and, where appropriate, withdraw from related discussions or decisions.

Ipswich Romanian Community CIC maintains a Business & Trading Plan designed to support long-term financial sustainability while protecting and developing the organisation's community purpose. The plan focuses on developing appropriate commissioned services, partnerships and income-generating activities alongside grant funding and other income sources.

IRC aims to progressively increase trading income and reduce reliance on grant funding for core organisational sustainability, while ensuring that any surplus is reinvested into the organisation's community objectives.

Ipswich Romanian Community CIC maintains a proportionate risk management framework to identify, assess and manage risks affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants, volunteers and Directors, as well as the organisation's activities, finances, information, partnerships and community impact.

Our approach is reviewed regularly and forms part of our wider governance and accountability arrangements.

Business & Trading & Sustainability

Ipswich Romanian Community CIC is committed to developing sustainable income streams that support our social mission and long-term community impact.

We seek to develop appropriate trading, commissioned services and partnership opportunities alongside grant funding, including work with local authorities, schools, education providers, community organisations and other partners.

Our approach focuses on community engagement, cultural and linguistic inclusion, education inclusion and diversity, EAL-related support, guidance, referrals, workshops and other activities aligned with our CIC objectives.

Any income generated through trading is managed responsibly and contributes towards the sustainability and continued development of our community work.

This framework explains how Ipswich Romanian Community CIC is governed and how decisions are considered, made and recorded by the Board of Directors.

It sets out the principles of collective decision-making, Directors' responsibilities, Board oversight, financial and risk governance, conflicts of interest, accountability and the appropriate recording of significant decisions.

The framework supports transparent, proportionate and responsible governance and helps ensure that IRC's decisions remain aligned with its governing documents, legal responsibilities and community benefit objectives.
