IMPORTANT: Since this will be the first IONS virtual conference please check out the section Conference activities of the webpage for more detailed info of how this Conference will carry out and how to virtual-attende succesfully.
The IONS OPUMA 2020 Organizing Committee welcomes you to the application and registration page.
Due to safety reasons we have a limited amount of seats available for attendees (for more information about attendees please read the section "Attendee selection criteria"). For this reason anyone intending to attend the IONS OPUMA 2020 must pass through a selection procedure.
Please read all the guidelines and prepare your application according to them. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to dismiss any application that does not follow the guidelines.

Abstract submission & application opens on December 1st, 2019
Abstract submission & application closes on February 17th, 2020
Recommendation letter submission deadline: March 6th, 2020 (Only for grant applicants)
Abstract submission & application results will be available on March 16th, 2020
Corrected abstract submission deadline: March 22th, 2020
Grant recipients will be announced on March 30th, 2020

The Organizing Committee will attempt to accept as many applicants as possible as long as they show a strong interest for Optics and Photonics. Due virtual limitations the limit number of attendees will be 500 users per sesion. If the number of applications is greater than the available places for attendees due to occupancy limit we will prioritize the application acceptance as follows:
Remember that submitting an application for the IONS OPUMA 2020 does not mean it will be accepted.
The period to submit abstracts has finished. The participants will be notified by email with all the pertinent data.
Submissions for the Student Chapter Competitions are open!
The Organizing Committee invites any Optics & Photonics focused student chapters to participate at the IONS OPUMA 2020 student chapter competition by giving a short oral presentation in English regarding an event/series they organize that suits any of the two available categories: Professional Development and Outreach.
The professional development category is about developing student soft-skills or connecting industry/field professionals with students while the outreach category involves the chapter interacting with their community in a meaningful way.
In order to apply the interested student chapter must send an email to ions@ciencias.unam.mx with the subject "IONS OPUMA 2020 Student chapter competition application - <Name of the student chapter>" including the following documents in separate PDF files:
