Indian culture had a major influence on Thailand. The Indian culture was diffused from the 'Ramayana.' The Thai people made this their own and call it the 'Ramakien' and it became the base of many Thai paintings, dances and dramas. Furthermore, one popular example of Indian culture in Thailand is Buddhism. 

Tourism is an example of assimilation in Thailand. Tourists have brought diverse cultural influences to the country which in turn brought negative impacts on culture in Thailand. Local resources that are used for culture practices, are stretched to provide for the tourists with food and transport. 

Traditional Thai medicine is an exaple of syncretism found in Thailand. It stems from indegineous religious practices with an animistic foundation, Indian medical knowledge, Buddhist medical knowledge, and more. 

An example of multiculturalism in Thailand would be the various festivals and celebrations that celebrate different cultures. Such as the Chinese New Year because of the large Chinese population in Thailand. 

Nativism regarding religious identity has begun to surge in Thailand. Many are trying to keep the Buddhist religion as the main component of Thai culture since younger generations are beginning to switch to more Western culture.
