Due to the fast-paced population growth in Israel, it has begun to affect Israel's housing. Since the population is growing at a fast rate, it is seen that the economy is going down because of low participation recorded in the workforce. The government is attempting to combat this by creating a 'fast-track approval for building permits.' However, some argue that this solution disregards environmental issues without considering public space or infrastructure needs.
Population distribution also affects the environment in Israel. Shortages have begun to happen regarding water, and the Israeli government has attempted to stop it. They've decided to attack this problem by investing in 'desalination plants' that remove salts and other minerals from saline waters to produce freshwater suitable for human consumption. While this is a good alternative, it consumes too much energy and land.
