The STP was created by Ed Geraty LCSW-C to foster communication, research, and education for licensed mental health clinicians who practice Transpersonal Psychotherapy.
What Is Transpersonal Therapy?
Transpersonal therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that considers the whole person: thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, values, and the search for meaning. It recognizes that people may find healing through a deeper understanding of themselves and their connection with others, nature, or something larger than themselves.
A transpersonal therapist helps clients explore everyday concerns such as anxiety, grief, trauma, and life transitions while making room for questions of identity, purpose, and spiritual experience. Depending on the client’s interests and needs, sessions may include conversation, mindfulness, guided imagery, attention to bodily sensations, dream exploration, or creative expression.
The client’s own beliefs and worldview guide this work. No religious or spiritual belief is required. The aim is to help people understand their experiences, respond to difficulties with greater awareness, and live in ways that feel more connected and meaningful.
This Society is in the beginning phase and we need clincians who are committed to this work to join us. At this time membership is FREE. There will be a membership fee in the future to fund continuing education events, etc. Feel free to share your interests, thoughts about moving the Society forward, etc, We now have a Facebook page and like to have you post thoughts and comments.
