Students will present their instructional units on Google Classroom and get feedback.
Above: Online education during the pandemic.
Contrary to some expectations, students prefer a 'live' teacher who is their teacher, in personal, synchronous sessions, even with the instructional somewhat 'homemade', over more slickly produced content from MOOC providers such as Coursera or Edx

Inquiry science (Questions about nature)- Propose hypotheses, prove or disprove with evidence from observations and experiments
Engineering design projects( Questions about physical human needs)-define user needs and constraints, propose, design and test solutions, revise and improve
Social studies inquiries(Questions about human social and political questions)-Ask compelling questions, collect evidence, make compelling arguments, take informed action
Whether in science, engineering design, or social studies, informed citizens must be able to make compelling arguments supported by evidence. Unless citizens are able to make intelligent decisions, democracy cannot function
[10] I venture, my friends, at this time, to solicit your attention, while I attempt to lay before you some of the relations which we bear to the cause of Education, because we are the citizens of a Republic; and thence to deduce some of the reasons, which, under our political institutions, make the proper training of the rising generation the highest earthly duty of the risen. (Horace Mann)
Things that went well:
Quizzes
Drawings
Inquiry Design Model Blueprints
Google Classrooms
Things that need to be changed:
Candle Experiment- did not work without prior teaching of science content; better suited as an in-class project; replace with pendulum experiment or other more structured project
Engineering design Project- too open-ended; better suited to in-class format; needed prior completion of a structured inquiry. Propose replacing it with designing an online game in Scratch
Wynn-Harlan textbook readings seemed too theoretical to be useful
Discussions didn't work; should be restructured as Forum discussions responding to specific readings or videos, etc.
Some students need review of digital skills and effective study habits
