"For this lesson Mrs. Makely discussed what happens to your thinking process when you get outside and become part of nature. Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. As artists it is important to observe the world we live in. The art of observation can tell us a lot about our behaviors, textures, patterns, sounds, and smells of the natural world in a more active way."
