The mask that we all have been hiding behind is gone.
We thought it kept us safe from harm and from being hurt.
Now stripped away, leaving faces we once knew pale and unknown.
Lips moving but no words to be heard.
The judgment that was hidden under the fabric has come out to show itself.
Faces we once remembered changed.
The faces we thought were smiling at us are the ones crying out for help.
Now finally being seen.
Now are masks are gone, and we are left with faces we don't recognize.
Faces scared to show themselves, scared of judgment, and full of insecurity.
Self-esteem stripped away by Fear and Anxiety.
The thought of someone seeing all of us is scary.
On display for everyone to see.
A piece of art in a museum, being looked at and constantly criticized.
We are pieces of art, and we are beautiful, we are unique and one of a kind.
Full of color and beauty that should be shown off and seen.
Fear is meant to be conquered, meant to be a challenge to overcome.
Don't be scared, you aren't alone.
Everyone is trying to hide something.
Stop hiding and show off your smile.
Haters are going to hate, love yourself, it won't matter.
Be bold and confident.
Don't hide.
Behind the mask is a face that needs to be seen.
Yours.
