The Bug Box in game can be found under “Help” and is a dedicated page for players to report game bugs they stumble across whether art, game breaking, or more minor related bugs. The landing tab “All Bugs” is where players can view or search for existing reports. Existing reports give the option to add comments or add to the “This is happening to me too” feedback (the lil yellow bug icon)
If a bug report does not currently exist for the issue you are getting / seeing, you can go to the “Report a Bug” tab to make a new report. New bug reports will ask you to include: Bug Report Title, Summary of Issue, Expected Behavior, Actual Behavior, Steps to Reproduce, and if able links to Screenshots or Screen Recordings of the bug. Bugs that could be exploited for player gain should also have the “This bug could be exploited” checked before creation.
When making a bug report try to include as much information as you can about what is happening and any details that may help the team solve the bug issue and get it fixed. It also helps to have a clear title that properly and in short explains the issue.
What if you make a duplicate report by accident (or you didn’t search for a preexisting one)? Members of the Helper team, and staff members, will merge the duplicate reports into one. However, the nicest way to help out helpers and staff is to check before making one and add to preexisting reports if they exist.
The Feature Request page can be found under “Community” and is a page dedicated to player ideas for the game. A lot of times these include things like QoL changes, new pages or buttons, new items, or additional information / data being added. This page is less so for requests related to breeds being added to the game, as normally if new breeds are being considered a forum will be made and the community will have a chance to vote.
The landing tab for this page is “All Requests” where players can go look through all active feature requests or use the search filter to try and find feature requests with certain themes. Feature Requests rely on community voting and feedback, but even heavily requested and upvoted requests could be denied if they cannot be implemented. By opening a request players can upvote, downvote, and / or comment to provide discussions, ask questions, or add spin-off ideas to the related request. An important note is that once you vote you cannot change your vote later. So make sure to fully consider the request and ask any questions you might have before making your official vote.
To make a feature request go to the “Submit a Request” tab and enter a Title and Description. Players can only submit ONE request a month per account so make sure to make it count! Having a well written, to the point, title will help attract more players, and a well written idea will also help others make votes and provide comments with feedback. Think about including any possible examples you can and additional information to make it worth your time and effort.
What if you make a duplicate request by accident (or you didn’t search for a preexisting one)? Staff members have the ability to merge requests, but upon merging valuable information may disappear. As such this ability is not really used and it is more likely the duplicate ideas will split community feedback or get deleted. This means ideas may not gain as much traction as they could have. If your idea is similar to an already existing request, but is NOT the same idea in execution, by all means feel free to make a new feature request. However, the nicest way to help out helpers and staff is to check before making one and add to (through voting and comments) preexisting requests if they exist.
At the time of writing this Help Guide, I am personally a part of the helper team, and one of my main focuses is the Feature Request page. If you have any questions in regards to feature requests you are more than welcome to reach out either in game or if you are a member of the Official HoFa Discord, you can always reach out over discord.
The Feedback page can be found under “Help” and is the ideal spot to give direct feedback about your time on HoFa. This could include things about the community, moderation, and general game experience. This feedback cannot be seen by the rest of the community or helper team, and instead is seen by Curly. Positive and Negative feedback can be included, but please make sure to be considerate of the feedback you are leaving and think it out before sending. This page is not meant to be a hate box or replace pages like Bug Box and Feature Requests. Constructive feedback is appreciated whether good or bad.
