My name is Nicole Almeida and I am a Senior at Bridgewater State University! I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Studio Arts. I am passionate about integrating art into learning for my future students. My teaching goal is to always provide a safe, empowering, and an inclusive learning environment. The classroom is a safe haven for students, where connections happen, relationships form, and a lifelong love of learning develops.
I am a Site Coordinator in the School Age Department at my local YMCA, where I have worked for 5 years. I was a student intern with the art teacher at Taunton Public Schools and worked with grades K-4th. I have also mentored Middle School students grades 5-8th in a program called Coaching for Change. In the Teacher Preparation Program at Bridgewater State University I have spent time learning, observing, prepping, and teaching students in the Brockton, Bridgewater, and Taunton district in grades 1-4th! I have also obtained my SEI Endorsement. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds. It also has sharpened my classroom management skills, professional responsibilities, and planning lessons as a teacher.
