Quote: Inclusive education is about how we develop and design our schools, classrooms, programs, and activities so that all students learn and participate together.
Every student deserves a great teacher, not by chance, but by design. Quote by Fisher, Frey and Hattie, 2016

How to Efficiently Navigate this Site :

Our rationale behind this format was to create a “grab and go” resource requiring minimal reading and/or viewing of videos. We have summarized the main points of all the research-based resources that are referenced in the Inclusive Virtual Classroom, saving you this work!

To navigate the Inclusive Virtual Classroom efficiently, headings are divided into High-Leverage Practices (HLPs) and Other topics.

HLPs:

Instruction

Collaboration & Communication

Assessment

Social/Emotional and Behavioural Support

Other:

Diverse Learning Needs

Tech Tools

Extra Tools for PD

References

Decide on a heading, read about that topic, pick an idea, and implement it during your next lesson! Repeat as often as you wish!

Guiding Principles

Throughout the creation of the Inclusive Virtual Classroom Toolkit, we have kept the following guiding principles in mind.

We wish to supply tips and advice to teachers so that they can continue to provide an inclusive environment for all students, even in the virtual classroom.

Providing inclusive practices, evidence-based research and using the principles of universal design for learning have been instrumental in shaping this Google Site.

Download a note taking sheet to keep track of your takeaways as you navigate the site.
