The Nuclear Engineering course is a "strictu sensu" graduate course, master's level, in the area of knowledge of Engineering. Its objective is to train nuclear engineers to meet the needs of the Brazilian Army and the country, with a solid theoretical-practical base and multi-purpose professional training, capable of acting critically and creatively in the nuclear area, enabling them to be highly competitive in the labor market , making them aware of the importance of continuing education, critical thinking, ethics and social responsibility.
The course intends that, with the experiences and knowledge acquired, at the end of the course, students are able to apply, in the area of Nuclear Engineering, technological and scientific knowledge in identifying, formulating, proposing and solving problems; design, execute and manage projects and systems; integrate and act in multidisciplinary teams; carry out technological and scientific research with a view to the evolution of knowledge and the development of new technologies; and develop a prospective vision, mainly for anticipating future technologies.
The Master Course in Nuclear Engineering takes two years of a full-time presential basis studies. The first year is dedicated to obtaining credits and the second one to researching and writing the dissertation.
