He has supervised 60 IC projects, 80 TCC, 33 Masters projects, 36 Doctoral projects and has supervised 30 postdoctoral projects and visiting scientists. Author/co-author (Google Scholar) of 259 publications with 2332 citations, H-index = 26 and i10-index = 54 in indexed journals (Nature, Phys. Rev. Letters, Appl. Phys. Letters, Phys. Rev. B , Sensors and Thin Solid Films).

He graduated as War Material Officer from Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (1970) and as Fortification and Construction Engineer (Civil Engineer) from Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1980). He holds a Master's in Nuclear Engineering from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1986) and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida (1992). He has a Course in Strategic Policy and Senior Management at the Army Command and General Staff College (1995). He was a professor at the Civil Engineering Course at Universidade Gama Filho. He is a professor in the Civil Engineering Course at Universidade Veiga de Almeida. He is a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Nuclear Engineering at the Instituto Militar de Engenharia. He was an advisor to the Technology Board of the Carlos Chagas Filho Foundation for Research Support in the State of Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ). He was an evaluator of higher education institutions and undergraduate courses and a member of BASis / SINAES (MEC Ordinance No. 1,751). He has experience in academic planning, strategic planning and university management. He has experience in Civil Engineering and Nuclear Engineering projects and in fostering the development of medium and small companies in the technological area.

Associate Professor at UERJ, exercises teaching and research activities in Civil Engineering (concrete structures) and Nuclear Engineering (applied nuclear physics). Graduated in Fortification and Construction Engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1996), Master's in Nuclear Engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia (2002) and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering (Applied Nuclear Physics) from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2008). The main functions performed include: Head of the Technical Section of CRO/9 (1997 to 2000), researcher at the Nuclear Group of the Research and Development Institute (2003 to 2005) and Head of the Nuclear Engineering Section of the Military Institute of Engineering (2008 to 2013). He is currently Head of the Department of Structures and Foundations at the Faculty of Engineering at UERJ, where, in addition to his supervisory role, he teaches Prestressed Concrete, Bridges I and Bridges II. He is a collaborating professor at the Military Institute of Engineering in the Fortification and Construction Engineering Section, where he teaches the discipline of Nuclear Shelters; carries out research and co-supervision activities in the Nuclear Engineering Program (Applied Nuclear Physics) at Coppe-UFRJ and is a collaborating professor in the postgraduate program in Nuclear Engineering at the Instituto Militar de Engenharia. Areas of interest: Building Structures and Bridges in Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete, Monte Carlo Method and Nuclear Engineering (Applied Nuclear Physics). He is a Prociência Scholarship at UERJ.
