REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING THE MASTER TITLE IN NUCLEAR ENGINEERING
- Obtain 27 credits in a program of study that must necessarily include the following disciplines:

- Atomic and Nuclear Physics
- Introduction to Nuclear Engineering
- Advanced Mathematics Methods
-Scientific research methodology
Module II
- Reactor Theory I
- Radiological Protection I
- Nuclear Detection and Instrumentation
Module III
- Nuclear Laboratory
- Reactor Engineering
- Radiation Shielding
-Radiological and Nuclear Defense (Mandatory for military only)
Module IV
Nuclear Laboratory (Mandatory)
Elective subjects:
Artificial intelligence
Robotics and Automation
Nuclear Materials
Computer Simulation Applied to Nuclear Engineering
Radiation Dosimetry
Techniques for Detection of Radon and Particulates in the Atmosphere
Nuclear Safety-Security
Kinetics of Nuclear Reactors
Reactor Theory II
- Special Problems in Nuclear Engineering
- As a decision of the CPPG (Pos-graduate Program Council), the student may be required to course additional disciplines considered mandatory within the research line of his dissertation subject, as provided in the internal rules of the course.
- Receive satisfactory mention in his dissertation, presented in writing way and defended in oral examination. The dissertation proposal must be presented by the candidate at the end of the second academic term;
- The student enrolled in the Master Course must be approved in the Language Exam. The exam consists of a Portuguese language test and an English language test;
- Have obtained a final CR equal to or greater than 3.0 (three);
- Complete the course within a maximum period of 24 (twenty four) months, exceptionally extendable for another 6 (six) months for civilian students; and Receive satisfactory mention for his dissertation, presented in writing way and defended in an oral way for the examination board.
