The Chicago Lighthouse is assisting with the NAPVI Conference this year.
Volunteers are needed for the NAPVI Conference to assist/chaperone approximately 100 participants for adaptive sports activities including, beep baseball; beep kickball; goal ball; Paralympic judo; track & field; and adaptive yoga.
Dates: Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12.
Location: The Chicago Lighthouse at 1850 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago (though, the adaptive sports will take place offsite, most likely the UIC campus).
o Events will include: Paralympic judo, goalball, beep baseball, beep kick ball on Saturday; and track & field and adaptive yoga on Sunday
o All of the sports will be led by experts in those areas but many extra hands and sighted guides will be needed
o Volunteers will work with very small groups of children with visual impairments or multiple disabilities in an adaptive sports program.
o Volunteers are requested to stay during the entire program hours for the day
Saturday (approx. 9am-5pm - may be divided into 2 shifts)
Sunday (approx. 9am-12pm)
