Our students of 1st ESO in the bilingual programme made the famous Halloween "jack-o'-lanterns." To do this, they hollowed out pumpkins and carved spooky faces into them. They had a blast! Once they were finished, they were displayed in the main hallway, opposite the teachers' room.
Nuestros alumnos/as de 1º ESO bilingüe realizaron las famosas "jack-o'-lantern" típicas de Halloween. Para ello, vaciaron unas calabazas y tallaron unas caras escalofriantes en ellas. ¡Se lo pasaron bomba! Cuando estuvieron terminadas, estuvieron expuestas en el pasillo principal que está en frente de la sala de profesores.
Our students of 2nd ESO in the bilingual programme performed in the school library the short horror stories they wrote to celebrate Halloween. There were even prizes for the best ones! Spooky!
Nuestros alumnos/as de 2º ESO bilingüe han teatralizado en la biblioteca del centro los relatos cortos de terror que escribieron para celebrar la festividad de Halloween. ¡Incluso hubo premios para los mejores! ¡Fue espeluznante!
All the short horror stories were displayed on our "English Corner" bulletin board, which is located in the main hallway on the first floor.
Todos los relatos cortos de terror estuvieron expuestos en nuestro tablón "English Corner", que está en el pasillo principal del primer piso.
In the group of 3rd ESO B from the Bilingual Programme, our students participated in an Escape Room that we organised in class during Halloween week. Divided into two groups, they had to try to escape from a maze by completing six missions, working with Poe's poems to find codes that would lead them to keys, which they needed to get out. It was very enjoyable to work with Edgar Allan Poe's poems in a different way.
En 3º ESO B Bilingüe nuestros alumnos/as participaron en un Escape Room que hicimos en clase durante la semana de Halloween. Divididos en dos grupos, tenían que intentar salir de un laberinto a través de 6 misiones en las que tenían que trabajar con poemas de Poe para encontrar unos códigos que les llevaran a unas llaves, con las cuales poder salir. Fue muy entretenido poder trabajar con los poemas de Edgar Allan Poe de una manera diferente.
To commemorate Thanksgiving Day, which is celebrated in the USA on the last Thursday of November, the students in the group of 2nd ESO wrote a thank-you letter in English to a teacher of their choice. The moment of handing the letters to the respective teachers was very emotional.
Para conmemorar el Día de Acción de Gracias, que se celebra en EEUU el último jueves de noviembre, los alumnos/as de 2º ESO Bilingüe escribieron en inglés una carta de agradecimiento a un profesor/a del instituto que ellos eligieran. Fue muy emotivo el momento de entregar las cartas a los profesores/as correspondientes.
Our students in the group of 1st Bachillerato A from the Project PECI test their comprehension and interaction skills in English with this collaborative game.
Nuestros alumnos/as del Proyecto PECI en 1º de Bachillerato A ponen a prueba su comprensión y capacidad de interacción en inglés con este juego colaborativo.
The same students from PECI in 1st Bachillerato A reflected in class on education in Spain and shared their ideas on how today’s school should be. All of these reflections were featured in the school’s digital magazine in the first term.
Los mismos alumnos/as del PECI de 1º Bach. A reflexionaron en clase sobre la educación en España y compartieron sus ideas de cómo debería ser la escuela de hoy. Todas estas reflexiones aparecieron en la revista digital del centro en el primer trimestre.
In the group of 2nd ESO, the students created these beautiful lapbooks as a cultural project to study the past. For this, they chose an English-speaking country and included information about its customs: typical food, types of housing, education, economy, and interesting facts from the 19th century.
En 2º ESO Bilingüe, los alumnos/as han creado estos preciosos lapbooks como proyecto cultural para trabajar el pasado. Para ello, eligieron un país de habla inglesa e incluyeron información acerca de sus costumbres: comida típica, tipo de viviendas, educación, economía y datos curiosos en el S.XIX.
As part of the School Radio Programme, the Bilingual Section invited some students from 6th of Primary School from CEIP Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente and CEIP Santa Teresa to participate in an interview in English alongside some of our students of 2nd and 3rd of ESO. During the interview, the Primary School students asked our students questions about how the school operates and about the Bilingual Programme. We hope they enjoyed the experience a lot!
Dentro del Programa de la Radio Escolar, desde la Sección Bilingüe invitamos a algunos alumnos/as de 6º de Primaria del CEIP Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente y del CEIP Santa Teresa a participar junto con algunos de nuestros alumnos de 2º ESO y 3º ESO Bilingüe en una entrevista en inglés en la que los alumnos/as de los colegios les preguntaron a los nuetros cuestiones sobre el funcionamiento del centro así como del Programa Bilingüe. Esperamos que disfrutaran mucho de la experiencia.

The students of 3rd ESO from the Bilingual Section created and presented a television programme about adventure travel in class. This project aimed to reinforce both the content covered at the end of the unit on extreme sports and their oral expression skills.
Divided into groups, they designed a programme that included reports on trips to adventure destinations, where reporters described their experiences. To conclude, each programme featured an interview with an extreme sports athlete.
They created some truly entertaining shows!
Los alumnos de 3º ESO de la Sección Bilingüe crearon y presentaron en clase un programa de televisión sobre viajes de aventuras para trabajar tanto los contenidos vistos al terminar la unidad sobre deportes extremos, como su expresión oral.
Divididos en grupos, crearon un programa en el que se incluían reportajes acerca de viajes a destinos de aventuras, en los que los reporteros describían las experiencias vividas. Para terminar, se incluía una entrevista a un deportista de extremo.
¡Hicieron unos programas muy entretenidos!
After reading Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, the students of 3rd ESO from the Bilingual Section created book trailers as a class project. After watching them in class, they evaluated both their own projects and those of their classmates.

During the event of Puertas abiertas, held on March 12 in the afternoon, the English department hosted a workshop where students had to answer different questions in English or complete various challenges depending on what they rolled on a giant foam dice. The students had a great time throwing the dice, and they even sang a few songs in English!
En la jornada de puertas abiertas celebrada el día 12 de marzo en horario de tarde, desde el departamento de inglés se celebró un taller en el cual los chicos/as tenían que contestar diferentes preguntas en inglés o realizar distintas pruebas dependiendo de lo que les saliera después de haber tirado un dado gigante de espuma. Los chicos/as se divirtieron mucho lanzando el dado, ¡e incluso cantaron alguna canción en inglés!
Two students from the Programme PECI in the 1st year of Bachillerato are taking part in the 8th edition of the Democratic Values Award. The Castilla y León Foundation and the Valsaín Foundation, in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Education, invite students from Castilla y León each year to reflect on a key value for democratic coexistence through the creation of videos. This year, the central theme is PEACE. The students have explored all dimensions of the term’s semantic field, researched the current global situation regarding armed and paramilitary conflicts, and are delivering a message to the entire international community.
Dos alumnos de 1⁰ Bachillerato PECI participan en la VIII edición del Premio Valores Democráticos. La Fundación de Castilla y León y la Fundación Valsaín, en colaboración con la Consejería de Educación de la Junta, invitan cada año a los alumnos de Castilla y León a reflexionar sobre algún valor clave para la convivencia democrática a través de la creación de vídeos. Este año el hilo conductor ha sido LA PAZ. Los alumnos han reflexionado sobre todas las dimensiones del campo semántico del término, se han documentado sobre la situación mundial actual en cuanto a conflictos armados y paramilitares y lanzan un mensaje a toda la comunidad internacional.
