Dual credit courses are taken by high school students. They are college-level courses that earn both high school and college credits concurrently. The Advanced Opportunities program can pay for up to $75.00 per credit hour for dual credit courses. Dual credit courses can be taken online or, in some cases, students can go directly to the college/university campus to attend their courses. All dual credit courses must be transcribed on the students’ high school transcript.
Dual credit is a great way for students to get a head start on future goals, experience college level academic rigor, challenge themselves, and take advantage of the financial benefits of the Advanced Opportunities Program. Many IDVA students earn dual credits during their high school careers. Some students take enough dual credit courses to earn an Associates Degree.
If you would like to take dual credit classes, please contact your counselor.
