We decided to pick the themes instead of the problem statements framework to sort our brainstorming ideas. The themes are able to embody the three problem statements we have previously identified. Since the problem statements helped identify the goals of our stakeholders, with the themes we focused on how we achieve their goals. Because of this, our three themes are:
How can we use existing tools but with updated protocols?
How can we use existing tools in new ways?
How can we use new tools?
With the theme framework, we are also able to ensure ideas are actionable.
From there we redistributed our ideas into the three themes which can be seen on tabs 4-6 on the spreadsheet. Then the ideas were further sorted into small clusters of 5-15 ideas. We picked three clusters that we found could have the most impact and make the biggest change:
Tracking
Oversight
Distribution
Tracking entails managing inventory levels while increasing supply chain visibility. Oversight includes both government and third-party regulations and oversight. Internal and external distribution channels will also be a focus of our groups. These clusters are applicable to all three problem statements and three themes. They also address the different areas of the supply chain. To ensure supply chain visibility, changes must be made at all steps in the system.
