This article by itself justifies the use us dendrites in marking foods, as the article reads 85 thousand tons of olives were tainted with chopper sulphate which is a ingredient in a variety of plant killers, but more so it is deadly to humans if ingested in the smallest amounts ranging from kidney damage to death if 10 grams is ingested, the main reason for this happens to a bad year in Italy’s yield of fresh olives on 2014-2015 so people resorted to tainting years old olives in copper sulphate to give them a fresher greener look to get them sold for higher prices or at all.
With this information and the potential of the dendrites project of tagging food with an unbeatable system of tracking and assurance of where it was grown and when this could have all been avoided and people wouldn’t have been exposed to such aggressive tactics that could have caused the pain and suffering.
Of course the article mention that the perpetrators got so far because the established labs usually tested for food coloring but since this done with a chemical reaction from copper sulphate it managed to get around that, but let us assume the dendrites were in full effect and each olive was marked and was scanned it would show them information that these olives could not be possible given the year they were tagged and a more intensive test would have been done bypassing ll the harm that could have happened.
