As of October 2025, Piktochart has modified its account structure so that free accounts are now only 7-day trials. After this time period, it will not be possible to download or share designs created in a free account. If you are currently working on a design, we recommend completing it ASAP and using one of the two free downloads before the free account expires.
Once logged into a free account, users are informed of how many days of the trial are remaining:
If you have not started your infographic assignment, we recommend creating a free Canva account or using PowerPoint (available to all Humber and Guelph-Humber students via Microsoft365).
This following tutorial describes how to plan and create an infographic using Piktochart. The method described uses a template as a starting point. We recommend using templates as a way of getting to know the software. Once you're more familiar with Piktochart's functions (or if you are feeling adventurous!) you can experiment with creating an infographic from scratch.

Hopefully you have already planned out your infographic and are ready to get started creating it. Before you begin the step-by-step tutorial, we recommend watching the following video, as it covers the basic functions of Piktochart in about 5 minutes. The video showcases what the software is capable of and it details how to start creating. For some of you, this will be all you need to get inspired and start experimenting. For others, it will be a good primer for what to expect from the step-by-step tutorial:
