Both houses sit a minute from the waves, so we keep a small set of gear for our guests — surf, ride along the Nichinan coast, or try fishing off the harbour wall. Add it when you book and it will be ready on arrival; the longer you stay, the cheaper it gets per day.

Full suits, sizes M / L / XL / XXL. The sea here stays mild into late autumn, but you'll want a full suit from October.
Board + wetsuit: 1 day ¥8,000 · 2 days ¥14,000 · 3 days ¥18,000 — on a 3-day surf trip that's ¥6,000 a day.

Sturdy bikes with wide tyres, helmet included, insured. The nearest public rental is in central Nichinan, so these are the easy way to explore the village, the river mouth and Ibii Station. We'll give you a map of quiet routes — Route 220 has narrow tunnels, so please avoid it.

Rod, reel, one rig per day, bucket and scissors. Bait is not included (we'll tell you where to buy it). Comes with a picture sheet of protected species and dangerous fish — lobster, abalone and sea urchin are protected here and must not be taken.
Prices are per item, tax included, paid at the house. We have only a few of each, so please ask when you book (the Book now form or Instagram DM @ibii_stay — English is fine). You'll sign a short rental agreement on arrival; please return everything rinsed with fresh water.
