Life in Ibii 伊比井の暮らし
Ibii is a small fishing village on the Nichinan coast of southern Miyazaki, in Kyushu. No hotels and no crowds — just fishing boats heading out in the morning, surf when the swell is right, and nights dark enough for a sky full of stars. We're Kalo and Shotaro, and we look after both houses ourselves.
The sea at your door — surf in front of the village, swim in the calm river mouth, and watch the sun come up over the Pacific.
A private onsen nearby — Honoka no Yu, private open-air hot spring baths you rent by the hour, is a short walk from both houses and is open on weekends and public holidays.
Fire, food and stars — BBQ evenings on the deck, a fire pit in the garden at IBII STAY 1, and locally caught Ise-ebi lobster on request.
Shrines, castles and wild horses — Udo Shrine, built into a sea cave, is about 10 minutes away by car and the old castle town of Obi about 20. Aoshima and Cape Toi make easy day trips.

Surfboards, wetsuits, bicycles and fishing gear to rent at the house, locally caught Ise-ebi (Japanese spiny lobster) and wild boar meat, and airport pick-up as a paid service. Availability depends on the date — just ask us.

Send us your dates and the number of guests with the form on our Book now page or by Instagram DM (@ibii_stay) — English is fine, and we usually reply within 24 hours. Rates vary by season, group size and length of stay. Staying two weeks or more? Long-stay discounts apply (30% off 14+ nights, 35% off 28+ nights), and you can contact us for weekly and monthly rates. Open dates are on the Book now page and at the bottom of each house page. Payment is by card in advance, through a secure link we email you once your dates are confirmed. Stays covered by the travel subsidy are paid at the house, in cash or by card. For stays using the travel subsidy, cancellation fees are based on the full price before the subsidy, because we register the booking with the government subsidy program at that price and must report any cancellation to it.

Ibii, Nichinan, Miyazaki — about 30 minutes by car from Miyazaki Airport, south along Route 220, the coast road. A car makes life much easier here; by train, Ibii Station on the JR Nichinan Line is within walking distance of both houses.
