Remember the EQs:
How is editing used to help tell the story and articulate what is going on in the scene?
How does the audience extract meaning from the editing/story?
How does the editing affect the audience's emotional response?
REVERSE ENGINEERING A SCENE:
Students select a short scene from a feature
film to recreate. Students should work within
their chosen role and are expected to
collaborate with all team members. Students
will need to carefully screen the clip, making
note of shots, angles, blocking, art direction,
movement, dialogue, sound effects,
soundtrack, transitions and pacing.
REMEMBER: THIS SHOULD FORM ONE OF YOUR PORTFOLIO FILM SUBMISSIONS, SO YOU MUST ENSURE THAT IT FITS THE SPECIFICATIONS FROM THE IB (BELOW) - IN PARTICULAR NOTE BULLET-POINT 3.
Your film clip must be 1-3 minutes long. Not less, not more!
Your should produce portfolio pages of corresponding length - i.e.:
1 minute film - 1 page portfolio
2 minute film - 2 page portfolio... etc
