The Study Abroad Orientation Course (LAS 291/292) is a three phase, one-credit hour course that all study abroad students are required to take in order to prepare them for their study abroad program, engage in active learning while abroad, and reflect upon their experiences after they return. The course includes pre-departure logistics, cultural preparation, health and safety information, personal and professional goal setting, and in-country support and re-entry support.
After you submit your Confirmation of Participation (CoP), you will be automatically registered for LAS 291 (current semester) & 292 (semester abroad). You will also receive an email link with instructions on getting started with the course, and if electronic materials are needed, how to access those.
