In the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, there is a strong presence of the textile and design industry, which produces about 11 tons of waste per day that is untreated. That is why Lobo Corp - a startup - created a project that seeks to implement a technology, similar to that used by some European countries, in which textile waste is processed and regenerated, to be reincorporated into the production circuit, within the circular economy framework. This process and the technology it implies remain undeveloped in Argentina.
Aware of this fact, Adrián Osuna, an ontological coach and a garment designer, trained at FIDM (San Francisco, CA), began to visualize the possibility of recycling textiles, and giving a new life to discarded materials. The proposal consists of starting to recycle cotton fibers, to later carry out the same process with other fabrics.
How they do it: This is a project to establish a recycled cotton plant in the city of Rosario (Santa Fe province) - Argentina. Lobo Corp seeks to produce fabrics with recycled fibers, to manufacture new garments with creative designs. In order to fulfill this it has already earned the mentorship of the municipality of the city of Rosario to establish its business plan and a team of 6 people to carry out the project’s implementation.
Lobo Corp's challenge is focused on:
Refining the Business Plan in terms of costs and logistics.
Importing the required machinery for the recycling process.
Design a line of recicled fibers' eco-sustainable products.
