Integrated Modified Three-level Buck Converter With Flying Capacitor-voltage Self-balance
Overview
This research is focus on a Dynamic Voltage Supply (DVS) for Current Mode Stimulation. The architecture of propose DVS is base on dual Dickson switched-capacitor structure. It converts 3.3V DC input into N*3.3V DC output (N can be dynamically scaled from 1 to 4). Another special feature in this study is we use low voltage CMOS Process (maximum breakdown voltage is 3.3V) to build this converter.
Purpose
Dynamic Voltage Supply is integrated fully on-chip with total area is 1mm2 provided maximum 3mA for 12 channels of Electrical Stimulation with high efficiency.
Development Direction
The proposed topology is implemented based on conventional Dickson structure, practically, we use dual converter for lower output impedance, higher output power and efficiency . The converter is designed using 180nm CMOS technology and provides maximum 34.5mW for Electrical Stimulation.
