鬼あり。焰口と名づく。その貌、醜く

して、痩せ枯れたり。口の中より、火燃え

て、咽喉針の如し。 髪乱れて、爪

長く、牙長くして、甚だ恐れつ

べし。この鬼、阿難尊者に遇ひて、苦患の耐 

ヘ難きことを悲しむ。阿難尊者、これを

聞きて、憐れみの心を起こして、鬼の苦 

を救ふべき有様を、仏に問ひ奉

りて、仏号を唱へて、様々の施を

行じて、鬼の苦患を救ひけり[1]。

There is a ghost. It is named the Fire Breather. His appearance is hideous, wasted and withered. Fire burns from the inside of his mouth, and his throat is like needles. His hair is tangled, his nails are long and his fangs are long, he is definitely extremely scary. That ghost goes to meet Ananda and he laments the difficulty of bearing the pain. When Ananda heard this, he awoke his compassionate heart, he humbly asks the Buddha about the condition that must rescues the ghost from the pain, he intones Buddha, carries out various benevolent acts, and he saved the ghost from his suffering![1]
