Salvia waverley
Here is another new addition to our garden in 2005. The origins of Salvia 'Waverly' are not entirely known. One of its parents it thought to be Salvia leucantha. Regardless of its origins, the hummingbirds liked this plant to a moderate degree. We had it in our garden adjacent to Salvia 'Phyllis Fancy'. Salvia 'Waverly' did not achieve the height or the spread of 'Phyllis Fancy' and also was not used by the hummers quite as much. Regardless of that, it was still a useful plant for the late summer garden. Like Salvia 'Phyllis Fancy', Salvia 'Waverly' did not start blooming until September in our climate.
