Salvia amistad

This saliva was discovered by salvia-phile Rolando Uria in Argentina. This is one of our most successful salvias. Although the Saliva amistad (also known as Friendship sage) was initially introduced in the United States by Flowers by the Sea, it is now readily available in garden centers and other online sources. We have discovered that the root ball can be dug up in the fall and stored in a garbage bag in our minimally heated sunroom (with supplemental watering so that the root ball does not totally dry out). Plant the root ball in the spring, and the plant will grow quickly and flower. This is one of the most used salvias in our garden.
