We grow agastaches as annuals (except that the Agastache foeniculum 'Snow Spike' is perennial for us) because the agastaches like good drainage in the winter time. We cannot achieve that with our clay soil. Also, this agastache is only hardy to zone 6. In the picture above, this agastache is growing in a pot in our front garden area near the porch and front door. The Agastache hybrid 'Licorice Candy' was introduced in 2013 by th Van Hevelingen Nursery. This was originally raised as a seedling from a batch of open-pollinated Agastache mexicana subsp. mexicana seeds. When purchased from the Van Hevelingen Nursery, 100% of the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association of Oregon.
