2/23/25 Important Update on Roadie App “Double Back Press” Glitch
Roadie’s latest update introduced a glitch that causes problems whenever users try to press the “Back” button twice to return to a previous screen or app. If you’ve experienced issues leaving Roadie or switching back to your previous app, this is a known Roadie bug.
Our newest HubGigReader (HGR) update resolves this problem by handling the switch-back logic differently, until Roadie issues their own fix. With the latest HGR version, you can return to your prior app or screen without relying on the double-back workaround that Roadie broke. Available on Google Play later on today. In the meantime turn switch back off.
Today’s HubGigReader update includes major improvements to Refresh Mode, making it faster and more reliable when searching for Roadie gigs. The latest HubGigReader update also includes a new workaround that bypasses Roadie’s broken back button behavior. With this fix, Switch Back works correctly again and reliably returns you to your previous app or screen without needing to press "Back" twice. Improvements and reduced lag on older devices with Roadie UI.
Improved handling and a new 5-second refresh cycle
Increased stability during continuous refresh sessions
Faster detection of newly listed gigs before they disappear
Better control via the floating button (tap to start, hold to stop)
Refresh Mode is now the best option for drivers who want to catch fast-moving gigs as they appear. Unlike Interval Mode, Refresh Mode:
Stays inside the Roadie app
Refreshes the screen every 5 seconds
Doesn’t waste time switching back and forth between apps
Gives you the fastest possible chance to grab new gigs
Get alerted only for gigs that fit your criteria. With our smart filtering, receive audio and visual indicators for gigs that match your set preferences like location, gig size, favorite, and payout
Seamlessly integrate with the Roadie driver app. Our overlays highlight the gigs you want, directly on the Roadie app interface, making it easier to spot your next opportunity.
HubGigReader is a tool designed by gig drivers, for gig drivers. It automates the process of finding and managing delivery gigs, helping you focus on driving while maximizing your earnings.
Auto Search: When enabled, HubGigReader automatically searches for gigs at set intervals. If zoom is configured, the app will zoom out before starting an automatic search to expand the search range.
Manual Search: You can manually initiate a search at any time. Manual searches do not trigger zoom and only search the current screen.
HubGigReader offers two modes for automatic searching:
Refresh Mode: Refreshes the Roadie app screen every 5 seconds. This mode is useful for quickly catching gigs that appear and disappear rapidly.
Interval Mode: Opens the Roadie app at set intervals and checks all the gigs on the screen against your criteria. This is the classic auto-search method for Roadie.
Choose the mode that best fits your workflow in the app's settings.
Favorite Gigs: Mark gigs as favorites to ensure they are always announced if they match your criteria.
Ignored Gigs: Mark gigs to be ignored so they are not announced.
Typing the exact word or phrase improves accuracy. This works for both Roadie search and notifications.
Set your preferences to filter gigs based on payout, distance, and other criteria. The app will only notify you of gigs that meet your settings.
When enabled, HubGigReader will speak gig details aloud based on your filters. You can control announcement frequency to avoid hearing the same gig too often.
Silent Mode: No announcements, only visual overlay.
Lite Mode: Gigs are announced up to three times before being ignored and a green overlay will be drawn on the screen.
Full Mode: More announcements. Good for getting used to how alerts work.
The app keeps a history of preferred gigs for tracking patterns and trends. Gigs are automatically removed after 15 days.
HubGigReader monitors notifications from selected apps that contain gig details. When a notification arrives, the app will extract the gig details, check if it meets your criteria, and announce it. If the gig matches your preferences, the app will automatically click on the notification so you can act fast. You must select which apps HubGigReader will monitor in the settings.
Automatically switches to the Roadie app based on set intervals to check for new gigs. Includes a Switch Back feature to return to the previous app after searching.
The blue floating button provides quick access to HubGigReader’s core functions. Tapping it allows you to manually launch the Roadie app and initiate a search.
Preferences allow you to fine-tune how the app interacts with gig searches and announcements. Adjust filters, notification settings, and announcement modes.
The Switch Back feature ensures that after switching to the Roadie app for Auto Search, HubGigReader will return to your previous screen. This prevents disruptions and allows for a smoother workflow. Interval Mode only. Works great with navigation apps.
