Sophist讀書會(24 June 2017)

The next meeting of our reading group will be on this Saturday (24 June 2017), at 13:30 as usual.

We didn't meet in May. In the late April and mid May, our friend Rina came back to Taiwan twice. We were glad to know that she has begun to teach in Hong Kong now. In May, Prof. Pappas also visited Taiwan. It was an interesting but also tiring month.

We will start with Plato's Sophist 227d, where the Eleatic Visitor and Theaetetus will develop their final definition of "sophist" at this stage. They will explore what the "cleansing" of the soul it would be. Usually we read two or three Stephanus pages each time.
