2nd Sunday in Lent, Year B

Sunday 28th February, 2021

Opening Song

  1. O raise your eyes on high and see

There stands our sovereign Lord,

His glory is this day revealed,

His Word a two-edged sword.

  1. We glimpse the splendor and the pow'r

Of him who conquered death,

The Christ in whom the universe

Knows God's creating breath

4. The prophets stand and with great joy

Give witness as they gaze;

The Father with a sign has sealed

Our trust, our hope,our praise,

Responsorial Psalm

Psalm 115(116):10,15-19

R/: I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living, I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living

I trusted, even when I said:

‘I am sorely afflicted,’

O precious in the eyes of the Lord

is the death of his faithful.

R/: I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living, I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living

Your servant, Lord, your servant am I;

you have loosened my bonds.

A thanksgiving sacrifice I make;

I will call on the Lord’s name.

R/: I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living, I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living

My vows to the Lord I will fulfil

before all his people,

in the courts of the house of the Lord,

in your midst, O Jerusalem.

R/: I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living, I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living

Offertory Song

Transfigure us, O Lord,

transfigure us, O Lord.

Break the chains that bind us;

speak your healing word,

and where you lead we'll follow.

Transfigure us, O Lord.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present

in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.

I love You above all things

and I passionately desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

come spiritually into my soul

so that I may unite myself wholly to You

now and forever.
Amen.

Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit

Communion Song

REFRAIN:

We be-hold the splendour of God

shining on the face of Jesus.

We be-hold the splendour of God

shining on the face of the Son.

VERSE 1:

And oh, how his beauty transforms us,

the wonder of presence abiding.

Transparent hearts give reflection

of Tabor’s light within

of Tabor’s light within. (to Refrain)

VERSE 2:

Jesus, Lord of Glory,

Jesus, Beloved Son,

oh, how good to be with you;

how good to share your light;

how good to share your light. (to Refrain)
