2nd Sunday of Lent   ~ 25th Feb 2024

Entrance Song

1. O raise your eyes on high and see

    There   stands our sovreign Lord,

His glory   is   this  day   revealed,

   His   Word   a   two-edged sword.

2. We glimpse the splendor and the power

    Of   him who conquered death,

The Christ in  whom the  u  -  ni - verse

   Knows God's  creating breath.

3. Of every creed and nation King

     In      him all strife is stilled;

   The promise made to  Abraham

    In   him   has   been fulfilled.

4. The prophets stand and with great joy

   Give  witness as they gaze;

The Father  with a sign  has sealed

Our  trust, our  hope,  our praise,

5. This glory that today our eyes

Have  glimpsed of God's own Son

Will help us  ever   sing with Love

Of   Three  who  are  but One.

RESPONSE: (Cantor, then all)

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

Verse 1.

I trusted even when I said I am sorely afflicted

O precious in the eyes of the Lord

 is death of his faithful.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

Verse 2.

Your servant Lord your servant am I

You have loosened my bonds.

A thanks giving sacrifice I make

I will call on the Lords name

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

Verse 3.

My vows to the Lord I will fulfil

before all his people.

In the courts of the house of the Lord,

your midst, O Jerusalem.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

I will walk in the presence of the Lord

in the Land the Land of the living.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present

in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.

I love You above all things

and I passionately desire
to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

come spiritually into my soul

so that I may unite myself wholly to You

now and forever. Amen.

Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit

Communion Song:

VERSE 1:

Be still, for the presence of the Lord,

   the Holy One is here.

   Come, bow before Him now,

   with reverence and fear.

In Him no sin is found,

   we stand on holy ground.

Be still, for the presence of the Lord,

   the Holy One is here.

VERSE 2

Be still, for the glory of the Lord,

 is shining all around.

 He burns with holy fire,

 with splendour He is crowned.

 How awesome is the sight,

 our radiant King of Light!

Be still, for the glory of the Lord,

 is shining all around.

VERSE 3

Be still, for the power of the Lord,

 is moving in this place.

He comes to cleanse and heal,

 to minister His grace.

No work too hard for Him,

 in faith receive from Him.

Be still, for the power of the Lord,

 is moving in this place.

Recessional Song

Lord the light of Your love is shining

In the midst of the darkness shining.

Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us,

Set us free by the Truth You now bring us.

Shine on me,

Shine on me.

      Shine, Jesus,   shine,

Fill this land with the Fath er's glo  ry.

      Blaze, Spirit, blaze,

      Set our   hearts on   fire.

      Flow, River,   flow,

Flood the    nations with grace and mer cy

      Send forth Your Word,

Lord and   let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence

From the shadows into Your radiance.

By the blood I may enter Your brightness,

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness.

Shine on me,

Shine on me.#

      Shine, Jesus,   shine,

Fill this land with the Fath er's glo  ry.

      Blaze, Spirit, blaze,

      Set our   hearts on   fire.

      Flow, River,   flow,

Flood the    nations with grace and mer cy

      Send forth Your Word,

Lord and   let there be light.

As we gaze on Your kindly brightness

So our faces display Your likeness.

Ever changing from glory to glory

Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story.

Shine on me,

Shine on me.

      Shine, Jesus,   shine,

Fill this land with the Fath er's glo  ry.

      Blaze, Spirit, blaze,

      Set our   hearts on   fire.

      Flow, River,   flow,

Flood the    nations with grace and mer cy

      Send forth Your Word,

Lord and   let there be light.
