Learning Objectives
By the end of the module, Sea Cadets will be able to:
(a) perform three more basic bends & hitches
(b) describe the practical applications of bend & hitch and the back splice
Bends and Hitches
How much do you remember from the bend and hitches training from last year? Here's a few more for you to practice!
If you need a quick revision on the other five bend and hitches, you may head over to the Junior Cadet's Sea module found here.
Task
Practice a few times. Once you are ready, challenge yourself:
Perform each knot within 15 seconds successfully to prove that you have mastered it perfectly!
Perform the back splice within 10 minutes successfully to prove that you have mastered it perfectly!
You may wish to video yourself tying the knots and share it with your cohort and Teacher Officers.
