This is a simple trick to use micropore, tape,. Stick tape to back of dressing to lift and avoiding touching inside of dressing.
HOW TO TAPE WITH MEFIX/HYPAFIX
Dressings can be adhered with mefix hypallergenic tape which has a slight stretch and overlapped by 1/3 to 1/2
One can then cover with a crepe bandage, with or without tape underneath. Do not pull too tight.
If too tight around arm and hands, fingers, your fingers may feel tingly or hand hurt and fingers change colour dark or white. Please loosen
Tubigrip or tubifast is easier to apply than crepe if you have no help and looks tidier. Size B or C is normally good for arms
Tubigrip D ,E,F,G are fo legs. One can buy a standard one size fits all in the shops
Wrap wound with a crepe bandage and no tape.
Sater with a slight stretch
Wrap around a couple times
Then wrap back and forward around the ankle to stop bandage from rolling off the forefoot when walking
with tape not the elastic sharp thing that comes with crepe
Dressing with hydrocolloids
Hydrocolloids are waterproof, as long as the edges dont lift . Its great for blisters and doesnt dry wound out
Warm the dressing in the palm of your hands to help adhesion
Hydrocolloids especially thicker one dont stick well around curves so use tape
To pull off -stretch the dressing . The wound underneath may be smelly and wet, but cleans up nicely. Do not use on infected , highly oozing or ischaemic wounds. Change every 2-7 days.
HOW to REMOVE TAPE WITH ADHESIVE SKIN TAPE
