This activity is best served when students are using their own device, whether it is a chrome book, laptop, iPad, or any device where they can receive and open a Google Form. Using Google Forms is an engaging way to to show student responses on an interactive map.
First things first, create a Google Form that will ask students a location and it can be anything from "Where was the first battle of the Civil War Fought?" to giving a clue about a state and having them guess the state (multiple choice on form). State cards are included on this webpage for such an activity.
Step 1: Go to your Google Drive, drop down “New” Locate Google Forms (you may need to click ‘more’).
Step 2 : Give your form a title
Step 3 (optional) Add Image
Step 4 - Ask Name
Step 5 - Add Question, Short Answer, "What State am I in?" Step 6 - Make sure you click on Required!
Step 7
You will see the 'Link' button at the top. Click it and you will get a link to share with your students.
