Creating a Photo Story with your rubber duck
Students will put together a photo story using Google Slides or Sites. They are to travel with a rubber duck from September to the end of their Spring Break taking pictures of interest along the way. The project is to include their personal photos as well as Google images. Pictures are required to include their rubber duck. Students needed to ask themselves, “What do you want your classmates and teacher to see?”
If you cannot visit 7 places of interest, you research Google Images for famous, historical places in the state of your choice. Using a photo-edit program, you will superimpose a picture of your duck onto the picture.
Example:
Students will take a black & white 'snap shot' from a famous time in history and add a rubber duck to the picture.
Make sure you convert the rubber duck to B&W.
Create a Postcard from an either fictional or real place your duck has visited (or character from a different book). Use Google Draw. Include the duck in your picture,
along with some interesting facts about your place. Don't forget to include a return address and stamp.
Required Elements of the Google Site or Google Slides:
Include at least seven (7) places of interest along the way.
Accompanying pictures with you and your duck or just your duck in each photo.
A narrative describing the importance of the designation you selected
historic places – if they were unable to obtain pictures, they used Google Images
A variety of regions.
A reflection from each trip and get personal, for example, were you disappointed? Did the place meet your expectations? What were your first feelings when you got there? Do you think it was worth going to?
Postcard from your duck in one of your locations.
