Written in 1941, Robert McCloskey’s award winning book, Make Way for Ducklings, lends itself to some lively discussions, from gender roles to duck migration. This children's picture book is about a pair of ducks and their eight ducklings. The story takes place in Boston, where Mom and Dad Mallard try to find a place for them to live away from fox and turtle. After a few flyovers, swimming, and crossing a busy street, they find the perfect place to raise their family.
