Maakaari 1 locates a few breaths away from the student village of Latokartano. The property was built in 1993, originally for the university's use. Due to its original function the studio apartments don't have proper kitchens. The clubroom is open for the property's residents to allow them to cook with the two ovens of the clubroom's kitchen. As the clubroom is freely open it is not always in the cleanest possible condition but it can be reserved for private use.
The clubroom itself splits into three compartments: kitchen, dining-room and living room. The clubroom is rather large and can fit a couple dozen of people easily. The dining room fits around six people around the dining table. The living room has armchairs and sofa for around eight people. The tenant committee's fridge and equipment closet also resides in the living room. Upon reservation the tenant gets access to these to allow cooking.
