About HMS CheSS Club
The Heritage Middle School Chess Club is a group started by Mr. Gassmann, the 6/4 science teacher, when he first came to HMS. The group has on average 50 members and offers a safe, fun, and enjoyable environment to talk with your buddies while playing a couple games of chess. Come to learn, play, or watch every first and third Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:15 in the media center. Check our schedule for specific dates and tournaments. We do not meet when Track 4 is tracked out.

Students from beginner/non-player to expert are all welcome. We encourage anyone who is interesting in learning, honing their skills, or playing a challenging match to attend. However experienced you may be, you are welcome and we have a place for you.
We order boards and chess clocks through www.wholesalechess.com and many times they will have special deals on shipping and discounts. If you are interested in donating a board or clock, a link to more information can be found below. All profits made from concessions and tournaments are put back into Chess Club for the purchase of new items.
