You can explain area by total space taken up by a flat (2-D) surface or shape of an object.
You can find the area of a square, rectangle, and right triangle. The area of a rectangle is l (length) and w (width)
then you will find the area.
You can find the area of the right triangle by copy it, turn it, and match to the other triangle, then you get a rectangle. Find the area of the rectangle and then divide by 2 (1/2).
To find the area of the square, you have to do the l (length) times w (width), which equals the area.
