Example Lesson Plan for Oral Vocabulary Practice
Title: Technology Talk
Instructions: Provide students with the vocabulary list.
Divide the students into pairs.
Instruct them to talk to each other about the prompt you will give them and to use as many of the items on the vocabulary list as possible. Students should write down and count the items they have managed to use in the conversation. Remind students to take turns speaking and listen actively to their partner's responses.
Read out one of the prompts and give students one minute to discuss it in pairs according to the instructions. Then read out another prompt and give it another minute. Go through about five different prompts for the full activity.
Debrief by asking the students how they felt during the activity, how difficult it was, how interesting, and how many vocabulary items each pair managed to use.
